We are seeking a senior business development manager to join Draper’s Defense Systems Program Office. The Combat Solutions team within the program office leads the advancement of technologies for land combat operations. We need a strong leader to transition these technologies to programs of record within the Defense acquisition community. The Senior Business Development Manager for Technology Transition will develop strategies, work with our business and engineering leadership to identify core technologies for transition, and pursue opportunities with the DoD joint acquisition community leading to successful contract award.
The successful candidate will develop strong business relationships with the DoD joint acquisition and requirements communities, establish personal credibility with these organizations, develop corporate relationships with possible transition partners, and lead proposal development efforts to transition game changing technologies. In addition, the successful candidate will lead high-caliber engineering teams in the execution of advanced development programs.
The position requires the combination of outstanding technical expertise, interpersonal and organization insight needed for business development, and program management skills to execute complex programs. The ideal candidate possesses a strong engineering background, demonstrated success in value-centered business development, and a strong record for managing complex technical programs. The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science with at least 20-years experience; a Master of Science or Ph.D. is desired. Prior experience with military service Research, Development, Test and Evaluation acquisition is required including experience working with military user communities and experience in developing user requirements for new technical projects. The candidate must have excellent presentation and communication skills, a broad understanding of defense contracting, and demonstrated skills in technology innovation.
