Responsibilities

Successful candidates will work with Draper’s Secure and Reliable Software Group, with a focus on secure application development for complex systems. We seek applicants who can effectively work with team members to architect, develop, test, and deliver systems that meet customer needs.

 

Cryptographic systems software engineers provide their expertise to our group throughout the secure software development lifecycle. Responsibilities include development and management of software requirements and concepts, development of secure software architectures, performing analysis of alternative designs to support mission goals and requirements, including managing multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver secure systems.

 

Qualifications

Key Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with 6+ years of experience.
  • Experience designing and developing software for cryptographic systems.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of applied cryptography and computer security concepts.
  • A solid understanding of software or system security threats and security risk assessment.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in a system context.
  • Relevant experience with secure software concept development, including defining and evolving secure architectures.
  • Experience with specific cryptographic protocols, secure software development methodologies, network protocols, and other topics which are useful to computer security.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of embedded systems and a desire to better understand how these systems work.
  • Experience with secure coding practices and associated libraries designed to support these practices.
  • Experience with Information Assurance certification processes and accreditation, software verification, validation, and testing.
  • Experience performing risk analysis and full system testing methodologies, including any exposure to any risk analysis tools or frameworks.
  • Certifications such as CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
  • Active or recent DoD security clearance.
