Responsibilities

Create supporting drawings for electronic printed circuit designs using inputs from ECAD designers and engineers.  Detail drawings using appropriate technical notes and geometric dimensioning/tolerances. 

 

  • Demonstrates proficiency with AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS.  May be asked to assist others with tool usage. 
  • Creates 2D AutoCAD fabrication drawings for printed circuit designs with inputs from electronic CAD designers and Design for Manufacturing engineers.
  • Creates 2D AutoCAD assembly drawings for printed circuit designs with inputs from electronic CAD designers.
  • Create and modify PDF’s of technical drawings using Adobe Pro.
  • Executes drawing revisions as specified by engineering change requests.
  • Reviews revised drawings to ensure engineering change requests are correctly implemented prior to release.
  • Works with moderate to minimal oversight from senior technical personnel and is able to identify design issues and bring these issues to their attention.
  • Ability to create and modify work processes and instructions as appropriate to improve workflow and communication. 
  • Ability to follow established work processes and instructions and to adapt to new processes and work instructions quickly.  Regularly provides feedback on the effectiveness of processes and work instructions to management.
  • Effectively communicates project status and issues to management and members of the project team in oral or written form as requested for the project.
  • Responsible for other assignments at the discretion of the supervisor.

Qualifications

Associates degree or certificate from a two year technical school in an applicable discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and skills.  Formal education in electronics or electrical circuit theory is a significant benefit.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to collect, organize and capture design details in a fast paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with industry standards: IPC-7351, JEDEC-JP95, MIL-STD-1835.
  • 3+ years of experience in the field of technical drafting with specific tools knowledge.
  • AutoCAD (2D), version 2010 or later. 
  • Adobe Pro, version X or later. 
  • SOLIDWORKS including CircuitWorks.
  • Working knowledge of Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and Expedition design tools desirable (version 7.9.4, or later). 

 

 

This position will require the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.  Main requirement for a security clearance is US Citizenship.
