The Draper Complexity Solutions Division is seeking a highly self-motivated systems engineer to develop models that clarify system interaction between people, data, and physics in a pan-disciplinary manner, using advanced analytics to best aggregate and reflect true System of Systems behavior. You will join a team developing first-of-a-kind systems and solving challenging national problems.
Typical job duties may range across designing, developing, validating, and maintaining models and infrastructure for design, assessment, and trade analysis of complex systems. We employ a Model-Based Engineering (MBE) approach and work cross-functionally with system architects, simulation experts, and the integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) engineers.
Communications and interpersonal skills are highly valued in this role. The ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with customers, engineers, managers, and other stakeholders of all relevant disciplines is a must. Flexibility to multi-task and adapt to evolving priorities will be required.
Masters or Doctorate in Engineering, Physics, or Science in a technically relevant field, and 2 or more years of direct “hands-on” work experience performing systems engineering functions and/or system integration and test.
Solid understanding of systems engineering fundamentals (e.g., as defined in the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook or other government or industry standards).
Working knowledge of the OMG Systems Modeling Language (SysML), and concepts related to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Experience creating system models in SysML using a commercial or open-source modeling tool.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in MATLAB and Simulink.
Experience developing applications using C/C++.

Experience using MagicDraw and associated plugins from No Magic, Inc.
OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional™ (OCSMP™) Certification at any level
INCOSE ASEP or CSEP (Associate or Certified Systems Engineering Professional) certification
Experience with Java and Python/Jython
