Responsibilities

The Cyber Systems Program Manager will lead Draper’s initiatives to develop new, advanced technology programs for cyber defense of commercial and military embedded computing systems; transitioning these technologies to protect critical national infrastructure and defense capabilities.  Draper is actively developing a portfolio of innovative cyber security hardware, software and analysis capabilities for rapid, thorough detection and mitigation of cyber vulnerabilities in embedded systems.  

Responsibilities

  • Develop business plans, technology investment plans, partnerships, and engineering resources to support and grow Draper’s Cyber Defense business  
  • Develop a technology base by capturing lead R&D programs for Draper
  • Develop strategic plans and programs for internal R&D investments in emerging cyber technologies
  • Lead talented and multidisciplinary engineering and program manager teams to develop game changing cyber defense and operations concepts; resulting in a steady output of white papers and proposals
  • Regularly interface with government leaders to understand emerging challenges and priorities to help shape and capture critical national security programs
  • Develop personal credibility with sponsor organizations and establish corporate thought leadership relationships with sponsor organizations

As the technology matures; lead Draper’s efforts to broadly apply to securing systems already deployed and future systems in development

Qualifications

  • 10+ years management experience transitioning advanced technology from development to practice on Defense or Intelligence programs
  • Strong technical background in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, vulnerability research or related cyber disciplines (e.g., applied cryptography, formal methods, static and dynamic analysis tools) 
  • Software development management, creativity, presentation, and project management skills
  • Effective leadership / project management in programs leveraging advanced technologies
  • Strong technical acumen for presentations and communications with cyber customers
  • Demonstrated skills in realizing innovative solutions from research
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance
  • Flexibility for frequent travel

Desired

  • Experience as Principle Investigator on DARPA/IARPA programs
  • Department of Defense Top Secret clearance
