Responsibilities

Draper Laboratory is seeking an experience RF circuit design engineer to lead efforts in system conceptualization, design and deployment for our array of customers. The candidate will lead in the analysis, design, simulation, prototyping, fabrication, integration and testing of advanced RF and microwave systems for communications, navigation and sensor applications. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing system architectures for communication systems
  • Analyzing customer requirements and constraints
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design antennas and RF circuits that complement the electronics and mechanical designs
  • Designing challenging electrically-small antennas
  • Leading design teams throughout the development cycle including concept development, conceptualization and design of RF systems
  • Designing challenging communication and navigation systems
  • Communicating progress with internal and external stakeholders and customers
  • Conceptualization and conduct of innovative R&D to grow company-wide technical capabilities

Qualifications

The candidate should have experience in the design of antennas and RF transceivers including waveform analysis, component selection, circuit design and troubleshooting. The candidate will serve as both a key technical team contributor and as a leader providing direction to teams of high-caliber engineers.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a BSEE (MSEE preferred) and 5 years of experience in RF circuit design or equivalent. Additional experience in developing high power amplifiers is desirable. Must have experience using state-of-the-art simulation tools such as HFSS, CST Microwave Studio and ADS.

 

Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining a security clearance
