Responsibilities

Do you enjoy solving difficult technical problems?  Can you see the forest and the trees at the same time?  If so, systems engineering is for you!  Draper is looking for bright and motivated individuals for entry-level systems engineering positions to work on multi-disciplinary teams for a wide variety of government and commercial sponsors in areas that include:

  • Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems
  • Vehicle avionics systems, including manned space vehicles
  • Autonomous systems (air, undersea, automobiles, etc.)
  • Biomedical systems (deep brain stimulation, microfluidic systems for organ assistance, etc.)
  • “Big data” systems
  • Sensor and communication systems

Systems engineers at Draper are expected to be able to contribute at all phases of development, including:

  • Understanding a customer’s needs and conceptualizing solutions
  • Architecting and specifying solutions
  • Designing systems and communicating the design to customers and fellow engineers
  • Identifying issues during system development before they become problems
  • Integrating components into systems and verifying that the system behaves as needed
  • Field testing systems in representative environments to make sure they meet our customers’ needs

Qualifications

Individuals must have demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, effectiveness working on a team, and the ability to absorb information quickly.  Leadership experience of any type is strongly desired.

Minimum MS in relevant engineering or science discipline (Aero/Astro, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science/Software, Physics, etc.) or a BS plus 2 years of experience.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
