We are seeking a program manager to join Draper’s Defense Systems Program Office. The optimal candidate will be responsible for leading program execution of tactical combat solutions technology development in the areas of autonomous systems, warfighter systems, precision munitions, and/or Secure and Assured Electronic systems. The Program Manager will lead new technical and business development initiatives and will serve as the principal customer interface under the general guidance of the management staff. The Program Manager will develop personal credibility with sponsor organizations, establish corporate thought leadership relationships, lead high-caliber engineering teams to develop game changing concepts, lead proposal development efforts, and manage the execution to meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
This position requires the combination of outstanding technical expertise, interpersonal and organizational insight needed for business development, and program management skills to execute complex programs. The ideal candidate possesses a strong engineering background, demonstrated success in value-centered business development, and a strong record for managing complex technical programs.
The candidate should have a Master of Science and at least 10-years experience (or a B.S. and 15 years of relevant experience). A sound knowledge of defense acquisition and contracting is beneficial. Direct experience within the military service defense researchers and acquisition activities is highly desirable.
The candidate must have excellent presentation and communication skills, a broad understanding of defense acquisition and contracting, and demonstrated skills in innovation and collaboration.
Ability to obtain a government security clearance is required for this position.
