Provide conceptual, architectural and technical leadership for all aspects of the company’s enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence reporting.  Provide hands-on guidance and expert advice to the team responsible for the design, development, integration, tuning and production support of the data warehouse stack:  data management and modeling, ETL, operational data store, data warehouse, datamarts, and the business intelligence reporting application (MicroStrategy).


  • Analyze business requirements in various business functional areas and translate them into conceptual, logical and physical data models. Design datamarts using knowledge of data warehouse principles, architectures and technologies.
  • Develop Informatica ETL processes for loading the ODS layer of the data warehouse environment from PeopleSoft and other applications; and for transforming data for a central data hub and datamarts.
  • Design and develop the business intelligence interface to the warehouse using MicroStrategy tools.
  • Integrate the various layers of the warehouse using various Oracle, Unix and PeopleSoft tools.
  • Provide infrastructure support (code and object migrations, metadata backups, project duplications, process scheduler setup) for the warehouse project.
  • Tune ETL processes and Oracle SQL statements to provide optimal load times and report execution.
  • Ensure a stable, reliable and credible data warehouse environment.


  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, similar degree, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years experience in data warehousing and business intelligence reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in business intelligence and data warehousing principles, approaches, technologies and architectures.
  • Experience with ETL tools required, preferably Informatica’s PowerCenter.
  • Strong Oracle database background, with SQL, PL/SQL and SQL tuning.  Experience as an Oracle DBA strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Unix and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft preferred, e.g. App Designer, App Engines, SQRs.
