Responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal Director of Human Resources, the Sr. Manager Total Rewards manages and sets strategic direction for the Total Rewards function.  Directs the activities and staff involved in recommending and developing Draper’s Total Rewards program.  Develops and administers the benefit plans and programs which include medical, dental, short-term and long term disability, group life and retirement plans.  Evaluates present plans and recommends changes to plans or alternate funding approaches.  The Sr. Manager Total Rewards will be relied upon to develop the Total Rewards team, and serves as a thought leader, capable of solving complex business issues.  This role will also overs Draper’s pay philosophy and administer employee compensation programs accordingly; ensures internal and external equity including but not limited to job analyses, salary surveys, benchmarking, market trends, and salary budgets.  

  • Provides Daily oversight and guidance to Total Rewards Staff.
  • Facilitates the Open Enrollment process through broker relations and strategy meetings, makes proposal to executive management regarding carrier changes, plan design changes and other offerings.  Ensures the maintenance and availability of Group Policies, Certificates, Summary Plan Documents (SPDs), and other as required.  Ensures timely completion of annual Flexible Spending (FSA) discrimination testing. Oversees retirement program, serves as Plan administrator.  Ensures annual audit process/5500 filing; mid-year and year-end discrimination testing. 
  • Manages leave of absence administration, provides direction, as needed, on workers compensation and disability to ensure legal compliance at both federal and state levels
  • Establishes and maintains salary structures; exempt and non-exempt compensation,  executive compensation, incentive compensation, and others as appropriate in support of career model framework.  Facilitates performance management that includes salary administration, promotions, eComp, for annual performance review process
  • Provides reports and metrics to senior management as requested
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and manage execution
  • Leverage best practices in health and welfare, benefits and policies

 

Qualifications

  • Proficient in all HR areas including Benefits, Health & Welfare and compensation is required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate data-driven recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Ability to summarize complex issues and articulate to leadership team
  • 10+ years related experience with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Compensation & Benefits
  • 5+ years in leading and managing a team
  • BS/BA or equivalent in business, human resources or related field of study

Additional preferred experience: 

  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional), CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) or CBP (Certified Benefits Professional) certification a plus
  • PeopleSoft experience
