Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Network Infrastructure Project Technician is responsible for maintaining, installing and managing the Data and telephony infrastructure of the Laboratory. This includes overseeing and project managing large scale infrastructure projects at Corporate Headquarters and remote site locations.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate with Draper Facilities, management and team members to provide networking and telecommunications infrastructure services to meet the needs of the business.
  • Install, terminate, move, add, change- fiber, Cat6, coax, network racks, ladder tray and wire management.
  • Buildout network intermediate distribution frames.
  • Troubleshoot communication circuits including DSL, PRI circuits ect.
  • Utilized various network testers and certifiers to troubleshoot faults in communication circuits.
  • Resolve service desk network infrastructure trouble tickets.
  • Maintain stock and coordinate job scheduling.
  • Work with vendors to procure services as needed.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years managing, installing and overseeing large scale Network Infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in build out of MDFs and IDFs.
  • Experience Performing detailed and accurate site surveys.
  • Maintains safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.
  • RCDD and BICSI certification is a plus.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to climb a ladder, lift up to 50 pounds, and pull cable through drop ceilings and under floor areas.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office working conditions and other indoor environments including within a modern data center.

 

Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
