Draper, a technology and product development company, is seeking a Program Leader in Reston, VA/Washington DC/Cambridge, MA to lead Draper outreach to the US Navy as well as OSD, USAF and other components of the airborne ISR community. Program Managers are responsible for the active pursuit and management of opportunities for providing the Navy with innovative technical solutions.
Relevant technical areas include: Naval Aviation mission precision (navigation, timing and pointing accuracy) across the range of military operations, Naval ISR Systems and Capabilities; collaborative ISR Platforms (manned and unmanned teams) and Multi-INT decision support capabilities. Each of these areas is critical to US Navy, USMC and overall DoD success. Position aligns well with Draper’s capability to develop innovative solutions to tough problems affecting airborne operations and intelligence mission areas.
Program Managers direct all phases of program activity including establishment and continuation of customer relationships, conducting program development activities, guiding technical concept/solution development of innovative technology, leading proposal teams, securing contracts, leading program execution, and providing customer representation during program execution.
This activity involves the development of white papers, abstracts, charts, solicited and unsolicited proposals, work statements, and system specifications.
10 years Naval air operations, test and/or ISR systems development, operations or acquisition experience. MS degree highly preferred, however, extensive career experience is an important factor.
Mission Relevance: Successful candidates will have experience some of the following mission areas; Naval airborne operations in ISR, anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW), UAS/RPA, ISR and / or Strike operations, along with a thorough understanding of the Navy airborne and USAF missions, DoD stake holders in AW&ISR.
Technical Relevance: Position requires knowledge of current and evolving technology in positioning, navigation and timing (PNT), airborne ISR including systems and sensors, manned and unmanned aircraft/platforms, networks, ground station and air operations centers, geospatial intelligence, targeting and precision engagement.
Business Relevance: Successful candidates will be able to influence and shape technology development opportunities with NAVAIR and related stakeholders. This likely includes knowledge of NAVAIR program development practices and the use of techniques to align Draper interests with NAVAIR.
