Responsibilities

The Cybersecurity Security Chief Scientist will lead efforts to shape new security technical capabilities for cyber-physical systems, technology protection, fault-tolerance, resilience system design, and information and technology protection. The candidate will be expected to lead project capture and execution efforts including cutting edge Science and Technology (S&T) sponsored efforts and support the transition of these technologies toward operational systems.

Draper is actively developing a portfolio of innovative cyber security hardware, software, research and analysis capabilities for rapid and thorough discovery of cyber vulnerabilities in embedded systems and the translation of this knowledge into the design of secure cyber-physical secure devices, platforms, and systems.  In addition, Draper is continuing to expand our secure-by-design formal methods, fault-tolerant, and resilient system design technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our Strategic, National Security and Space, and Commercial business program management teams in technology development planning, shaping external partnerships, and working with Engineering management to coordinate the use of staff and infrastructure resources to support and grow Draper’s cyber-physical security technical and project base.  
  • Champion the continued development and communication of our cyber-physical security technology capabilities.
  • Lead talented and multidisciplinary teams to develop game changing cyber-physical security technology and operations concepts; resulting in a steady output of white papers, presentations, and proposals.

Qualifications

Required

  • Demonstrated track record of successful leadership with an M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering discipline.
  • Strong technical background in computer science, embedded systems, vulnerability research or related cyber-physical security disciplines (e.g., applied cryptography, formal methods, static and dynamic analysis cyber security tools, information assurance, anti-tamper, fault-tolerant systems)
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience that includes applied application of security technology for DoD, Intelligence, and/or Space systems.
  • Experience as Principle Investigator on DARPA/IARPA, DoD, and/or Intelligence Community programs.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • This position will require an active Secret security clearance

Desired

  • Experience with cyber-physical security technology and applications in commercial industries.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
