The Information & Cognition Division is seeking a Group Leader for the Human Analytics Group. The Human Analytics group is an interdisciplinary team of machine learning, data analytics, and human-centered engineers who focus on enabling systems to gain insight into humans and apply those insights to create better systems. The group leverages theory and insight from the fields of psychology and human factors to build machine learning and data analytics approaches that provide new ways for systems to understand, adapt to, and team with humans.
The Group Leader position is a multifaceted role, in which the candidate will be responsible for managing and developing staff, enabling development of novel Human Analytics capabilities, and performing as an individual contributor or leader on project teams. The Group Leader will be expected to manage, grow, and maintain a talented staff of engineers, building a strategic mix of skillsets and disciplines. The Group Leader will also be responsible for promoting the culture of innovation within the group, growing the culture of collaboration outside of the group, nurturing new ideas, and supporting engineers in proposal writing and other business development activities. Lastly, the Group Leader will also be an engineer and will execute on programs in appropriate roles. Specific technology areas of interest include application of data analytics and machine learning to enable adaptive interfaces, collection & application of physiological signals, capture and understanding of human behavior, improved human-machine teaming, and analytic insights about populations.
