As a principal member of the technical staff, the candidate will play a critical role in the development of next generation position, navigation and timing (PN&T) hardware supporting critical applications of national interest. This engineer will work closely with a team of engineers and physicists to develop, prototype, and test best in class and cutting edge inertial and timing components, algorithms, sub-assemblies and test beds. Draper has established a world class capability regarding PN&T technologies and the new candidate is expected to support the drive to utilize these technologies in novel ways to meet customer needs. The candidate will be expected to support customer meetings, both initial business development interactions as well as program reviews for awarded programs. The candidate must be able to work with multidisciplinary teams and must possess good communication skills.
PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or related discipline is preferred, though strong candidates with Master’s degrees and technical leadership experience may be considered. A strong physics background is highly desired. The candidate should have a strong technical background with at least 10 years of work experience in a technical field. The candidate should have experience leading teams of engineers as well as a background in developing new products/business. The individual must be highly self-motivated and must thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
