    Are you passionate about understanding what makes systems tick? Do you enjoy applying that understanding to tackle some of the world’s most challenging problems? The Systems Science and Architecture group is looking for someone who speaks the natural language of systems and can effectively translate their innovative, elegant solutions into SysML/UML models.

    The candidate will be responsible for research and technology development tasks leveraging model-based engineering concepts and tools to represent the design and behavior of the system from initial concept through fielding of the system in its operating environment, including its obsolescence. The candidate will leverage Draper core technologies and capabilities to conceive innovative solutions for our customers across a variety of domains. The candidate will accomplish these tasks and objectives in coordination with other team members, task leads, Draper Program Managers, engineering subject matter experts, and/or representatives from the customer or end-user community. These solutions will often be cross-domain, cross-disciplinary system designs to meet the customer needs.



    • Experience is required in model-based engineering as applied to need articulation, problem framing, architecting, developing, integrating, and fielding core technologies through research and development activities, and crafting innovative solutions for complex systems. 
    • Demonstrated depth of expertise in processes and tools such as SysML and UML, specifically with working expertise in MagicDraw is required. 
    • Familiarity with applicable government research and technology development roadmaps is highly desired. 
    • An M.S. degree with 10+ years of experience (or a B.S. with 15+ years of experience) in systems engineering and systems architecting using model-based engineering processes and tools is minimally required. 
    • The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be a self-starter with willingness to learn and participate in an exciting team environment. 

    Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
