    Responsibilities

    Treasury is part of a 40-member Finance organization, also including Accounting, FP&A and Government Compliance/Cost Analysis. The Treasury team, led by the Treasury Manager, is trusted upon by senior leadership to provide key strategic, financial and operational information that is critical to Draper's financial strength.

     

    The Treasury Manager will provide leadership for key business operations and oversight of the financial assets of Draper. He/she will have responsibility for monitoring Draper's various investment portfolios, developing capital structure and risk management models and related insurance coverage, coordinating debt administration and compliance, managing and forecasting cash balances, and maintaining all related internal, external, and regulatory reporting. The Treasury Manager will provide direct supervision and management of one direct report (Treasury Analyst).

     

    This role requires outstanding analytical skills, attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Also required is frequent collaboration with internal partners and external service providers (e.g., custodians, banks, investment managers).

     

    Essential Functions:

    • Manage the Treasury function for Draper. Provide direct supervision and management of Treasury Analyst, as well as others that may support Treasury projects from time to time
    • Work closely with investment managers on strategies and analysis to ensure the assets in the investment portfolios (corporate investments, pension plans, post-retiree medical plan) are managed in accordance with their respective investment policies. Monitor and evaluate performance and due diligence activities related to the various portfolios
    • Lead the corporate insurance program, working with business areas, executive management and insurance brokers/underwriters on Draper’s insurance coverages, policy applications, renewals, claims and certificate needs
    • Oversee cash flow projections and cash management to ensure daily liquidity, line-of-credit management and cash account administration
    • Serve as liaison with key external providers for the Treasury area, including Draper's retirement plan administrator, retirement plan investment advisor, outsourced chief investment officer, actuarial firm, insurance providers, external legal counsel, banking institutions, debt providers and rating agencies
    • Interface with Draper’s Human Resources, Internal Audit, Accounting and Legal teams to review, monitor and assess our retirement benefit plans
    • Handle all internal and external audit requests and required documentation related to pensions, investments and debt
    • Lead preparation and presentation to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors on investments, retirement plan financials, and other Treasury topics as warranted
    • Enhance and maintain procedures and documentation for key Treasury functions
    • Perform other ad hoc projects and analyses as required or requested by the Principal Director of Finance, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) or Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

    Qualifications

    Knowledge and skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated experience developing and delivering presentations to all levels of an organization
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and on cross-functional teams
    • Intermediate experience in project management (e.g., planning, organizing, and executing assignments to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives)
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and meet deadlines
    • Excellent management skills and ability to mentor, motivate and develop staff
    • Advanced finance modeling skills; deep knowledge of corporate finance theory and practices
    • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

    Minimum required experience:

    • Candidate should have a minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience, including a strong background and demonstrated advancement in accounting, finance and/or treasury
    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent, required; advanced degree (MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance), preferred

    Additional preferred experience, education, etc.:

    • CFA, CTP, CPA, familiarity with government contracting and/or investment portfolios reporting
    • Prior experience in investment banking or consulting, a plus
    • Ability to work independently, deal with ambiguity and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment focused on results
