    The Trident Program at Draper is responsible for the design, development, production and Life Cycle support of the inertial Guidance System that supports the US Navy’s Fleet Ballistic Missile.  The program is looking for an outstanding Program Manager to lead engineering efforts on the Trident Program. The Program Manager must have a working knowledge of inertial guidance systems and the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Weapon System; must be experienced with the fundamentals of Program Management, including WBS structure, cost and schedule reporting, earned value, and risk management.

    The Program Manager will:

    • Be responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of the MK6 MOD 1 Trident Program
    • Perform strategic planning to ensure that the task supports the service life of the MK6 MOD 1 Guidance System.
    • Effectively manage and lead a team of employees assigned to the program from engineering, production, and administrative areas.
    • Act as the primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review presentations with the customer.
    • Ensure that the program adheres to all program requirements defined in the contract and management plans defined for the program area.
    • Effectively communicate status of program to upper management and proactively identify program issues and develop solutions.


    The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership characteristics, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate.  Excellent verbal and written communications are required.  The successful candidate will demonstrate high levels of organization and self-motivation with the ability to lead the team to accomplish challenging tasks in a high-pressure environment.
