The candidate will contribute to Draper's efforts in the design, development, test, analysis, verification, and validation of embedded system software for mission assured systems.  Activities will include contributing to the entire software life cycle from conceptualization and requirements analysis through final software verification and validation.  Corresponding engineering documentation of the architecture, design, test plans, and analyses will also be required for all phases of the programs.  The individual will be expected to maintain state-of-the-art technical expertise in tools, techniques, and methods used in the development, maintenance, and certification of mission critical and embedded software systems, with emphasis on their application to guidance, navigation, and control systems. The individual should have the ability to also function autonomously with little direction, and/or guidance from the manager.

This Group Leader position is for the PN&T System Design Group (GBB2) in the Mechanical Engineering and System Packaging Division. As a Manufacturing and Process Technician, the candidate will play a critical role in a facility that manufacturers microelectronics using electronic assembly practices. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high reliability electronic assemblies to end customers by supporting production.  Strict adherence to process instructions and documentation requirements will be expected.  The candidate will work closely with a team of engineers and skilled operators.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Radiation Effects Engineer. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in radiation device effects and their implications on system design. This role requires a deep understanding of radiation physics and relevant semiconductor device modeling, such as TCAD.   - Conduct research and analysis on radiation effects to inform system design decisions. - Evaluate the impact of radiation on semiconductor devices and materials, considering factors such as thermo-mechanical effects, electromagnetic coupling (EMP, IEMP, SGEMP), ionizing dose rate, total dose, and displacement damage. - Develop and implement radiation hardening approaches to enhance system resilience. - Familiarity with radiation detection methods and testing procedures to validate system performance. - Collaborate effectively within a team environment, providing mentorship to junior engineers. - Prepare and write proposals for research projects. - Communicate progress and findings through published reports and presentations. - Support radiation testing activities in the field to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.

The engineer will provide innovative solutions to complex problems by leading the development of novel microsystems that integrate precision sensors, actuators, optics, and/or novel materials.   He or she will need to work across organizations to technically contribute to existing programs, identify new opportunities, develop innovative concepts and write competitive proposals.  Candidates should have a MEMS design, analysis and/or fabrication background but be willing to venture into new and unexplored areas.    Experience in application areas such as inertial guidance, magnetic sensing, microfluidic systems, biomedical devices, thermoelectrics, microelectronics, spacecraft, energy storage, radiation physics, and related topics is beneficial but not required.  The candidate will be expected to work effectively in a team environment, mentor junior engineers, write proposals, and communicate progress and results through published reports and presentations.
