The Inertial Sensor Integration & Test Group at Draper is seeking a principal engineer with a broad technical skills to work in a multidisciplinary environment to conceptualize, develop, analyze, and assess robust GN&C (Guidance, Navigation and Control) sensors and systems for a wide variety of applications, including defense systems. Program roles will usually be Systems Engineer and/or Integration and Test Engineer. Tasking will include participating in the development of high-fidelity sensor models, test development and planning, conducting analysis on systems and sensor packages, and evaluating sensor performance integrated into high-level assemblies and systems. Job Summary:   The Security Analyst is an experienced security professional who performs the duties as the primary Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) and/or primary Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO).  The CPSO/CSSO works closely with Government Security offices to ensure all security obligations are met. This role performs all aspects of on-site execution of program security requirements for assigned SAP/SCI program(s) to ensure compliance with regulatory guidance. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, interpreting, and applying existing various U.S. Government regulations, ex. Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), DoD Manual 5205.07, DoD Manual 5105.21-M-1, the CFR 32 Part 117 (NISPOM Rule). In addition, the Security Analyst will monitor classified information systems and controlled areas, track personnel security processing, conduct periodic self-inspections, oversee the implementation/completion of corrective action plans, and thoroughly investigate and document security violations/adverse information reports. The candidate must be a United States citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret eligibility and be willing to undergo a polygraph examination, as required.   Responsibilities:   The CPSO/CSSO will: - Provide oversight to ensure compliance of security requirements and to maintain compliant security posture of assigned programs and areas. Provides security guidance and is responsible for answering security related questions. - Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Program Protection Plan (PPP) and Fixed Facility Checklists (FFC) that assures compliance with government regulatory manuals. - Interacts with multiple levels of Draper management and technical staff to convey information related to program indoctrination briefings and debriefings. - Conducts administrative inquiries of security incidents and non-compliance. - Maintains knowledge and understanding of security community policy changes, communicate pertinent changes. - Support Business Development by providing security requirements and the estimation of security support for proposals. - Keep laboratory Directors apprised of security changes in government security requirements and procedures. - Must use sound judgment and good business practices, while maintaining good working relationships with internal and external customers. - Execute ongoing program-specific security education and training program structured to meet the needs of briefed program personnel. - Execute the security self-inspection program as well as the actions to correct deficiencies and improve the overall security posture across each program area. - Maintain positive working relationships with external and internal customers. - Executes the Construction Security Plan (CSP) for the construction and/or modification of work areas IAW the government’s physical security specifications. - Maintains compliance by coordinating with company facilities staff and contractors to ensure the maintenance, repair, and testing of access control and alarm systems. - Maintains required security databases. - Responds to after-hours alarms and emergency conditions. - Performs courier duties and other security related travel in the local area and in the U.S. as needed or required. - Responsible for classified material accountability and control. - If required maintain COMSEC accountability for special access programs to include encryption devices, secure telephones (STE), and classified communication networks. - May provide indirect supervision and training of less experienced security staff members.  

As a Principal Condensed Matter Physicist, the candidate will play a critical role in the development of advanced quantum- and condensed matter-based platforms for highly precise sensing, detection, timing, and measurement systems. Specifically, the candidate is expected to work on quantum solid-state sensing and detection and to conceive, design, model, test, and characterize novel methods for using room-temperature condensed matter structures to outperform conventional detectors.   The candidate is expected to have deep fundamental knowledge and experience with optics, electromagnetics, materials, devices, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, and/or acoustics. It is highly desirable that the candidate have some experience with theory, simulation, and experimental work.

The Contested Environment Test Solutions group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and support software for the testing of inertial navigation sensors and their components. The ideal candidate will have significant experience using LabVIEW to develop software for test stations. They will be responsible for supporting existing LabVIEW-based test stations and developing new test stations as-needed. This role offers participation in cutting edge technologies for a variety of specialized and unique applications within contested environments, such as radiation or GPS-denied environments. The candidate will be expected to work effectively both independently and with cross-functional, multi-site teams.  This is primarily an on-site role, with some flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement.

The Contested Environment Test Solutions group is seeking a multi-talented electrical design and test engineer to support and lead test programs for a variety of specimens ranging from electronic piece parts to inertial navigation sensors (accelerometers and gyroscopes). They will be responsible for designing and implementing test fixtures and supporting software, as well as preparing formal documentation of test results. Working across programs and engineering directorates, the Weapon systems Architect will develop and execute a technical strategy for a portfolio of Draper solutions in weapon systems.  Responsibilities include shaping development of programs to address needs and identifying a path to transition the solution into use. A successful candidate will be a highly motivated strategic thinker with experience in leading complex technical programs that leverage Draper’s weapon systems technologies and model-based engineering capability.   Specific responsibilities will include: - Work with other senior leaders in engineering and program directorates to engage potential customers on mission level challenge problems. Collaborate with customers to define weapon systems requirements and constraints. - Lead the analysis of concept of operations and development of quantitative data driven frameworks to solve operational precision weapon challenges. - Develop system requirements, and analyze cost/schedule and success/failure tradeoffs. In collaboration with program management, develop customer engagement strategy, shape programs and deliver superior solutions. - Drive strategic planning and lead activities in support of long range and near term weapon systems development plans. Guide and manage teams during all phases, from concept development to fielding of systems.   Serve as a thought leader in the precision weapon system domain. Work closely with cross-functional teams to uncover and address strategic technology development and business development opportunities. Execute complex assignments with minimal management direction. Mentor technical staff and development teams to successfully work to deadlines, often while successfully managing to multiple competing priorities

The software process engineer builds relationships, bridges gaps, integrates teams, and inspires creativity across teams.  This person provides consulting on DevSecOps for software teams.  The software process engineer identifies key metrics to measure existing processes, and implement improvements.   - Optimize productivity by designing, implementing and testing new procedures - Design low-risk experiments to prove/disprove improvements - Create proposals for rolling out process improvements accounting for scope, cost, schedule, risk, metrics - Recommend innovative, compliant solutions to meet business needs - Drive improvements to Draper’s software development process, including best practices - Lead Agile/Scrum activities to deliver high quality, compliant software - Provide mission assurance by mitigating risks and enhancing opportunities and ensuring compliance throughout the software development life cycle
