Draper is seeking a skilled, motivated, detail-oriented guidance and control systems engineer to support the design, development and analysis of advanced guidance and control (G&C) algorithms as well as the development and testing of G&C models for missiles.  The design and analysis tasks call for a wide-ranging suite of G&C design and analysis techniques such as classical, optimal, robust and/or adaptive control methods; analytic and numerical controller analysis and verification tools; and model- & optimization-based techniques such dynamic inversion and pseudo-spectral methods for trajectory design.  Analysis tasks will include assessments of closed-loop system performance, development and verification of algorithms and algorithm requirements, and analysis of flight dynamics. The candidate should be familiar with the development and use of time domain as well as frequency domain analysis and linear covariance methods. We are seeking a Principal Mixed Signal Electrical Engineer to join the Low Power Electronics group. As a principal member of the technical staff, the candidate will play a critical role in the development of next generation sensor/actuator hardware within the Electronics Division. Members of the Embedded Electronics group support a variety of multi-disciplinary programs lasting an average of 12 to 18 months each. In addition to working on sponsored programs, group members are also encouraged to develop and participate in internally funded research and development programs.   The ideal candidate is someone who works well in cross-functional teams and has extensive experience interfacing with sensors/actuators and wireless systems with low size, weight, and power requirements.   Core Responsibilities: - System architecture design and trade studies - Proposal development and project execution - Detailed electrical analysis and design for mixed-signal electronics - Schematic capture, simulation, and PCB layout/oversight - Prototype bring up and debugging - Functional verification - Performance characterization

As a Senior Quality Engineer, the candidate will play a critical leadership role in a facility that manufacturers hardware. The manufacturing environment includes semi-conductor processing as well as standard electronic assembly. The candidate will provide technical leadership and mentorship for a team of engineers to deliver high reliability electronic assemblies to end customers. The candidate will identify and implement improvement activities and support customer requirements for quality and workmanship.  

Draper Laboratory is looking for skilled microelectronic and conventional electronics assemblers.   Job Requirements: - Performs skilled SMT and or microelectronics assembly work under the limited supervision of senior technical personnel (exempt and nonexempt). - Is capable of refined hand soldering with solid technique and complex conventional and or microelectronics assembly. - With limited supervision but with adequate training, may operate and or maintain SMT and / or microelectronics assembly equipment requiring highly skilled knowledge. - With adequate training and limited supervision, performs work of an essentially repetitive nature for production of deliverable hardware. - With limited supervision, carefully documents their own work consistent with work unit policy in handwritten form or using common computer-based software such as MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, etc. - At the discretion of the supervisor performs focused training to enable progression into higher skilled positions. - Other temporary assignments at the discretion of the supervisor. In this role, you will apply modern verification strategies to complex digital and mixed-signal designs in the areas of embedded security, cryptography, signal and image processing, navigation and communications.   You will develop verification approaches, author and execute verification plans, and use formal analysis tools. While leading verification teams, you will define the test-bench architecture and verification approach. You will be responsible for developing methodologies and defining processes used by verification teams. Data Management Analyst Draper has an exciting, new opportunity for a Lead Data Manager.  As a Lead Data Manager, you will help the company achieve on commitments by delivering customer requirements on time. In this role, you will be responsible for inputting, monitoring, and managing deliverables within Draper’s PLM system. POSITION SUMMARY   Draper is hiring a Supply Chain Manager to lead a team of Supplier Management and Small Business professionals and serve as the Supply Chain ERP implementation advisor for the department. Reporting to the Director of Procurement & Property, the Supply Chain Manager will support the supply chain needs of the program offices. This is a senior level role with matrixed responsibilities supporting leadership in five Program Offices, Draper’s Quality team, and Engineering. As part of the Procurement & Property leadership team, this role will develop, implement, and execute supply chain strategies and processes to achieve quality, cost, and performance requirements. The Space and Strategic Navigation group is seeking a motivated, skilled estimation engineer to support the design, development, and analysis of navigation algorithms and flight software for space systems (like, this, this, this, and this) and strategic systems (like this and this). The group supports the full development arc of flight programs, including covariance analysis, high-fidelity sensor modeling, navigation filter prototyping, Monte Carlo analysis, flight software development, integration/testing, flight test support, and post-flight analysis. Draper is seeking a senior-level technical professional to be Guidance System Software Technical Lead for the Trident Life Extension 2 (LE2) Guidance System.  The Guidance System Software Technical Lead will oversee execution of development, integration, test, and release of all mission-critical software for the program including the embedded flight software and the deployed test and support software. The software area will be managed by this lead and a dedicated Program Manager.  The lead would have 4+ direct reports.  The overall software effort is expected to grow from its current size of 15 FTE to approximately 75 FTE over the next 5 years.   Roles and Responsibilities:   - Leading the development of multiple software configuration items including secure boot, operating system, flight software applications, and system test applications - Ensuring the LE2 Software team consistently meets all technical requirements and milestones, delivering highly-reliable mission-critical software to satisfy program needs - Establishing modern and effective software development processes (e.g., digital engineering, DevSecOps, simulation-based software verification and validation) for use across the LE2 Program - Ensuring compliance to Draper-internal policies, Trident program requirements, and quality management best practices - Providing technical leadership and decision making for the LE2 software team during interaction and collaboration across the LE2 program technical areas - Working with the Program Manager for LE2 Guidance System Software to establish the overall development plan and schedule for LE2 Software

The candidate will support Draper in the development of next-generation resilient and fault tolerant software solutions. The candidate should have experience in developing application-level and platform-level software with a focus on guaranteed-availability and performance in resource constrained systems. Prior experience in developing avionics systems is a must. The candidate will support Draper's efforts in the development of mission-critical embedded system software for various industries.   The candidates activities will include full lifecycle software engineering, including requirements analysis, architectural & functional design, implementation, test, and integration of embedded software systems. This position is for a Senior Engineer with 10 years of engineering experience in analysis, simulation and modeling of GN&C systems for military and aerospace applications. This opening seeks an innovative thinker who can take technical ideas and concepts, turn them into simulations that form the requirements and design of high performing GN&C systems, and then develop tests to measure their performance in realized systems. In this position you will work closely with, and lead, teams of engineers that develop, design, and evaluate, dynamic systems that make use of innovative navigation sensors and guidance systems for various vehicles and applications.

The Program Manager will report to the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Senior Program Manager to oversee a major technical insertion phase of the Navigation Software for the CPS weapon system.  Working within the Strategic Programs, Hypersonics & Reentry Business Area, the PM will manage technical teams and Draper’s Prime customer to ensure common expectations, prioritize and direct technical development, monitor, and report progress. The Program Manager is responsible for overall technical quality, schedule, and budget for the program. The PM will: - Be responsible for developing a strong relationship with the Prime customer, the ultimate government customers, and the numerous other national team stakeholders that contribute to the CPS program. - Be responsible for management of deliverables to meet customer expectations within budget and schedule. - Prepare regular management summaries on EVMS, Risks & Opportunities, IMS and schedules, and budgets, and present them at monthly Program Status Reviews and periodic internal Executive Level Reviews. - Oversee the Technical Director, Task Leaders / Control Account Managers for each task area, and prepare proposals and task products leveraging Draper and departmental standards and processes (task agreements, schedules, deliverables, control account plans, earned value status).   - Be comfortable operating through and driving progress in an ambiguous environment with incomplete information. - Help develop technology roadmaps and identify areas for business pursuits and internal development.

The Product assurance Group Leader will lead a multi-disciplinary group that is responsible for ensuring the integrity of Draper’s deliverable products.  The Group Leader is the first-level of engineering management and requires the ability to apply sound engineering and management principles for technical hands-on leadership of a group of approximately 18 technical staff with expertise in product assurance including calibration and metrology.   Specific responsibilities include: - Working with the System Modeling and Assurance Division Leader to support the career development, growth, and project assignments of the Group’s staff - Develop, establish, and maintain product assurance programs, procedures and controls for internal and external hardware manufacturing to ensure conformance of product quality to customer and company requirements. - Management of staff tasked with calibrating measuring tools/instruments; - Management of staff tasked with conducting visual, mechanical, and optical/non-contact inspections of parts, subassemblies and deliverable products per internal policies and procedures; - Hiring of staff as needed to support the group’s mission.
